ArcelorMittal has filed a €1.8 billion ($2 billion) claim against the Italian government. The dispute centers on the former Ilva steelworks (Acciaierie d’Italia), where ArcelorMittal alleges that government “omissions and illegitimate legislative interventions” undermined their investment and forced losses. This follows the Italian state-appointed administrators seeking damages from ArcelorMittal for alleged mismanagement earlier in the crisis.
